Our coaches are life-long educators who have a passion for helping students reach their full potential. They have first-hand experience working with all types of students whether it be through instructing, counseling, advising or similar. As such, they are sensitive to common issues students experience during their transition to high school or college and are able to support them appropriately.
At ACS we pride ourselves on our ability to match your student to an academic coach whose education, expertise, and teaching style best fits your student’s needs. Our matching process begins with a series of assessments where we gather information that helps us decide which coach would be the best fit.
Our proven curriculum goes beyond books and articles and includes experiences, interviews and advice from educational professionals, employers, doctors and psychologists– all of whom have worked closely with students for many years. This process brings together form and function, combining curriculum with one-on-one support.
At ACS, we are familiar with what students experience throughout their academic career and the transitions and changes that occur. Focusing on key elements that are well-established as tricky areas for navigation allows us to provide the right support at the right time. This is stepped accordingly to allow the student to develop the mental and intellectual skills as well as the confidence they need to build successful habits.
As a part of the program, each student is expected to use the ACS Time Management System. It includes a custom planner designed to allow them to become the master of their time. This is included in the cost of the program. When used consistently and as instructed, it works 100% of the time to keep students on top of their tasks. They also find they enjoy an overall reduced stress level and increased confidence, as they begin to see the benefits of good time management.
