What does my student need this year? That question has been asked countless times in households like yours across the country. Parents are trying to figure out what their teen needs to be successful in school right now.
You may be asking yourself, “What types of students can an academic coach help in Indian Hill, OH?”. Academic Coaching Specialists has created a program that will work with any student, right now, right where they are. We provide one-on-one instruction, working with your student each week on exactly what they need.
How do we do it? We match your son or daughter up with one of our amazing coaches based on their learning style, academic needs, and personality. Holistically, if any of these are not a good fit, the arrangement will not work. Next, we set up a reoccurring time each week that is dedicated to just them. Student and coach meet virtually for 1 hour. During this time, they discuss challenges for the week, build a plan of action, and work through any obstacles. They also celebrate any successes, big or small. Lastly, the student receives feedback and instruction, as well as encouragement and accountability.
We can help your student right where they are! Whether it is to get ahead or stay ahead, Academic Coaching Specialists provides the most value and are the most comprehensive program around.

When it comes to tutoring, there are a lot of services out there. But what does a good tutor look like, exactly?
There are a few things to look for in a tutor, that will let you know you have a good fit:
1. Experienced and professional
Make sure the tutor selected has several years of experience and that they are professional educators. These two things go hand-in-hand and will be key to your satisfaction with the arrangement.
2. Your student is making progress from day one
Check with your student to make sure they feel like the tutor provided helpful feedback and that they explained material in a way they could understand. Simply reading or restating what the teacher had or confusing the student more are the opposite of what the tutor should be doing.
3. Good Chemistry
Your student and their tutor don’t have to be buddies-in fact, they shouldn’t be. Making sure they maintain a good, healthy relationship where your student understands expectations, and the tutor understands their limitations/boundaries. Tutors and students should mutually benefit from each other and enjoy the experience of overcoming challenges together and seeing progress in the form of comprehension and better grades.
