So many students and families turn to tutoring and academic coaching when they experience a large frustration or a failing grade. While we are always glad to help students recover from such things, we are also here to help students who want to become more proactive. Academic coaching helps with the everyday challenges in Waco, Tx.
From planning out your day to planning out your semester, our coaching staff are able to work with students to proactively anticipate busy times, and use strategies to reduce stress and allow them to do their best work every time.
Forget, Fall, or Fail
Students who consistently forget assignments, due dates and meetings are only a few chances away from exhausting their good graces with faculty. They can either realize that and make some changes in behavior that will correct this, or they will continue to make excuses, fall, and eventually fail the course.
We see this over and over when students take advantage of the second chances given and do not make corrections. Working together with an academic coach will bring their attention to this pattern and help them to break the cycle of forget, fall, fail. Instead, they will help student to plan, execute and succeed!

HIGH SCHOOL
TUTORING
If your high school student is stressed with their demanding course load or needs help getting back on top of a challenging subject, give us a call.
If a student is signed up for a class they full well know they are dreading, it is a good idea to put a tutor in place BEFORE they even start the class. There are many reasons for doing this:
- It provides a safety net. The tutor will work to ensure comprehension on material from day 1. The student won’t even have the opportunity to get behind.
- Confidence. Having an “expert” to provide one-on-one help with material they find frustrating will boost their confidence in their ability to do well in the class.
- Oftentimes, once a class has begun, the pace can take off, leaving some students in the dust. They can feel so lost they don’t even know where to start in explaining what they don’t understand. The tutor can ensure the student stays in control and will not lose sight of where they are and what needs to be done each week.
Even if your student is confident they want to try it on their own, it still makes sense to put the tutor in place first, then it can be backed off or removed if the class is, indeed, not a problem. It is much more difficult to try to dig out of a hole half way into a course than it is to start out with support, and be able to take control at the beginning, and come out on top.
