Perhaps you have used a tutor in the past, either as part of a school program or an outside person. Maybe your student found some success with them in the form of a better or passing grade in a class. But what if they are still struggling with other areas of school? This is when tutoring is only part of what they need in San Antonio, TX.
- Are they always forgetting about or turning assignments in late?
- When asked, do they know what they have due, coming up, or missing?
- Do they keep a paper planner and refer to it each and every day?
- Is homework or working independently a very difficult task for them?
The answer for some may be to try working with an academic coach. Our coaches are experienced educators who have worked with a diverse student population. They understand the challenges students face and know how to help them. Just as athletic coaches provide direction and encouragement, so too do academic coaches offer these qualities when working with students.

HIGH SCHOOL
TUTORING
If your high school student is stressed with their demanding course load or needs help getting back on top of a challenging subject, give us a call.
An academic coach will meet with your student one-on-one each week and organize time and materials. Together they will determine what is due, when to work on it, and get it in on time. No more missed assignments or surprise tests. Academic coaching puts a heavy emphasis on time awareness and planning. We even provide a custom academic planning tool that allows the student to easily manage all of their academics, commitments, and activities in 4 easy steps. Each week the coach will review the progress and help the student plan for what’s next.
Tools for the Trade
Learning is a full-time job for students. And as with any job, there are certain tools that one is expected to have to be able to successfully do their job. A carpenter cannot build without a hammer, a doctor cannot assess without a stethoscope, etc. Therefore, a student should not have to try to piece together information to learn without solid organization, notetaking, studying and test taking skills. These “tools” are essential to any student doing well, though so many of them struggle to “get the job done” with less than half of these. These “soft” or executive function skills are not directly taught in school (though they should be!) and as a result many students feel like they missed something or are always the last to figure things out. Well, no more! We can help put them in control and help them feel like they are finally in charge of their education and future.
