TUTORING
If your high school student is stressed with their demanding course load or needs help getting back on top of a challenging subject, give us a call.
So many parents we speak with say the same thing. They want a student who is on track to becoming a healthy and strong adult who can provide the lifestyle they desire through a profession they enjoy and find value in. They also desire one who thinks proactively and can problem-solve; be resilient and has grit.
This all starts with one small step. ACS coaches are able to break down each step to fit the student’s here and now, making things relatable and valuable for the student at every turn. Simply put, it answers the question, “why should I care?”.
Let’s face it, your son or daughter listens to you, but do they really hear what you are trying to tell them? Of course, you have proclaimed the value of hard work and proactive thinking their entire lives. Yet, they seem determined to do things their own way. This can be frustrating, but rest assured, it is perfectly normal developmentally for them to do so. In fact, it is part of what is necessary for their growth at this stage. This is good news! The bad news is that it can be difficult to convince them that what you are telling them is actually correct. That is where we come in! Let our coached reinforce what you have planted, and be that other voice that they may hear more readily at this stage of their life.
Our coaches are familiar with avoidance behaviors and can work with and through resistance on behalf of the student. Once a relationship of trust is established, the student will learn to accept that they are there to help. Further, the techniques and strategies taught in the sessions will be put into action each week, proving to the student that they will have success time and time again if they follow through.
