Support your high schooler or college student in Fremont, CA

Looking for a great way to help support your high schooler or college student in Fremont, CA?

Academic Coaching Specialists is the number one tutoring and academic coaching program offering one-on-one support for students! Our coaches are all experienced educators who have years of working with a diverse student learning population. This gives them the knowledge and insight to be able to not only help a student troubleshoot their challenges, but also to anticipate some they may not even see on the horizon.

Students who struggle with time management, organization, or procrastination issues, find our services to be especially helpful. Oftentimes, students find themselves in an endless loop of assignments, putting things off, getting behind, cramming for tests, and throwing homework and projects together at the last minute. While thy can maintain this for a time, ultimately it catches up with them, particularly when they hit an educational milestone, such as a particular grade in high school or entering college. An academic coach can help them stop this cycle and re-train them to work proactively, prioritize effectively, and work at a reasonable and healthy pace.

Our college academic coaching program focuses on supporting students through organization, time management, goal setting and accountability.

Has your student found themselves on academic probation or falling behind in their college coursework?  Our expert educators can help!

Our high school academic coaches teach students how to organize, prioritize and utilize effective study, note and test taking strategies.

If your high school student is stressed with their demanding course load or needs help getting back on top of a challenging subject, give us a call.

Academic Coaching

Each week the coach will work with their student to understand their challenges, celebrate their victories, and create a plan that will move them toward their goal. This mentorship provides a stable and trusting environment where the student is able to rely on the coach to help guide them to overcome obstacles, solve problems and plan proactively. The transition then occurs naturally, from a healthy interdependence to an independence in the student. They begin to plan ahead, anticipate obstacles, and craft plans to avoid, or work through them. The coach/student relationship creates a stronger student who can advocate for their needs and understands what it takes for them to stay on top. They learn that they do not have to be stressed all the time, and that things are so much easier when they are not having to dig out of holes or come up with excuses.

Tutoring services are also very focused on student growth in this way. Not only do the tutors work weekly on course material, they encourage their student to do more. Of course, the student may resist the idea of extra work at first, but the goal is to eventually increase the comprehension and create a more confident, more efficient student who does not back away from a challenge. Together, they plan out assignments, establish incremental goals, and use a lot of feedback along the way. ACS tutors care about their students and work hard to help them achieve success. Frequently, students who start out having a strong dislike for a subject end up enjoying it and even choosing to take on more voluntarily in their future class planning. These are the best results we could hope for and they happen every day at ACS!
