Addressing Learning Loss and a Pathway to Recovery

COVID-19 has caused significant disruption to education at all levels, driving substantial losses and inequalities in learning for millions of students across Ohio. To help close the gap, Gov. Mike DeWine tasked Ohio schools with creating extended learning plans that will make up for lost ground.
In response to Gov. DeWine’s mandate, Academic Coaching Specialists developed a turn-key COVID-19 Recovery Program that is focused on meeting the academic and social-emotional needs of students, families and school communities. With some students ending up on academic probation or falling behind as much as 12 months, there is an enormous need for a support solution that will help students reacclimate and catch-up post pandemic. ACS’s individualized, one-on-one curriculum will provide these students with the skills, accountability, encouragement and motivation to be their very best at:
- Time Management
- Problem Solving
- Study Strategies
- Test Preparation
- Note Taking Techniques
- Follow-Through
- Metacognition
- Stress Reduction
- Motivation & Goal Setting
How it Works
Step 1 – Participating students would take VARK and Myers-Briggs assessments.
Step 2 – We’ll match your student(s) with a coach that closely aligns with their learning and personality preferences and devise an individualized plan for recovery.
Step 3 – Weekly one-on-one coaching sessions begin either for summer or the length of the contracted school year.
Step 4 – We’ll report on student progress.
